It’s that time of year. Summer months are coming to an end and Fall is quietly approaching…for now.

I feel like Fort Collins really welcomes the end of summer. New Belgium throws a huge bike riding party called Tour de Fat and another awesome local organization hosts a free, three day music festival called Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest.

(This revelation may make someone put us on some type of list for being awesome.)

Get Ready for Music

I was elated to hear  The Steve Miller Band is performing Saturday night at NewWestFest.

My parents were pretty strict with the media I was exposed to (whether it was tv or music). Luckily I was able to find my dad’s Steve Miller Band cd and it became one of my favorites.

I was also excited to see that kid-friendly beat-boxer and rapper Mr. Kneel is performing again this year.

Last year was the first time I saw him perform and he was so talented. He really engaged the children with his abilities. Not to mention my older son won the dance contest and received a free cd. We rock Mr. Kneel in the car all of the time and it’s fun to listen to as a family.

There are two main sections of the festival specifically for kids.

The first is Kids’ Music Adventure, a free, interactive kids’ area. The second festival area specifically for kids is Kids’ World, produced by the Downtown Fort Collins Business Association.
