Coming from back East, frozen custard and water ice is the norm. If you’ve ever had Rita’s then you know what I mean. I never really had frozen yogurt prior to living here in Fort Collins. When I had the opportunity to try this delicious treat I got hooked and now I’ve made it a “thing” to take Price whenever it’s convenient or warm outside because it’s so affordable. Getting frozen yogurt (or “Fro Yo” in my household) is my go to mother/son date.
The number of places to get this yummy treat in our city is probably too high to count on your fingers. We’ve frequented a number of establishments and my favorite place to go is a spot called Spooners located in Front Range Village. I like Spooners so much because the variety. They have a lot of flavors and toppings including delicious fruits.
Anytime I have a person from out of town visiting, this is a place I take them to so they can experience something unique to Colorado. I honestly feel like frozen yogurt is very Fort Collins. It’s healthy, and natural, and kid friendly. It’s a treat I don’t mind my son eating. Going to get frozen yogurt never gets old to him. He gets to pick out his flavors and toppings and it’s a great way to finish off a day.
Now that I live on the north side of town, I find myself frequenting TCBY Timberline, too. They also have delicious flavors and I see them sponsoring different kid-friendly events around town. TCBY also has daily deals which is worth checking out. Hopefully we get good weather again soon because I’m missing my frozen yogurt fix.
