Childhood is a time to explore and to learn. Kids play sports, they play music, they play art. Fort Collins is lucky to have a number of places where kids can discover the magic of painting and drawing and crafting and sculpting.
Here is a short list of places to “do” art:
Juiced on Imagination
Providing Fort Collins with expressive art therapy, Juiced on Imagination has classes for kids as young as 15 months all the way up to adults. There’s an Art to Grow on with Mommy and Me on Friday mornings for mamas with babies. There are also plenty of art camps going on for kids over the summer. You can reach Julie at (970) 301-9695 or email her at email@example.com.
VanCo School of Art
As the only school of art in Fort Collins, VanCo offers classes to classically train kids in oil painting. Coleen aka CoCo also has summer painting and art camps available for kids. Her drop in classes are only $15 and run throughout the summer and school year. Her classes and camps are for people in the age range of 5 years old to adults.
This ceramic studio offers classes for kids and right now they have a Kids Summer Clay Camp. It’s a four week session each Thursday from 4:30-6 pm. Learn more about the camp or drop-in classes by checking their website. It’s currently under construction, but all the information you need is there. You can also call them at (612) 987-3162 and ask for Sue.
I discovered this gem at Centerra’s Kids Day focusing on Art. Teaching kids as young as 2, this place looks like A LOT of fun. Kids can either paint pottery or glass. Mondays are their family days so there is no studio fee for kids. There are lots of different camps and classes available at Artisan You! This creative space is located in Loveland and you can contact them at (970) 663-4906. On July 12 they have a fun event planned for kids called How To Train Your Dragon for only $25. It includes pizza and runs from 10:30 to noon.
I know many people have young kids that want to do art. The Loveland Museum Gallery offers classes each Saturday for kids 2 years old – 6. There are also classes for older kids for $20. If you’re a member then it’s a bit cheaper. You can learn more about the classes and camps by visiting their site. They’ll be hosting a Paint Parade on July 12…sounds fun!
